Blades 2-4 Shrewsbury

“Congratulations to Micky Melon and his staff for having the guts to select an attacking team and taking the game by the scruff of the neck!”

“Kaikai, . Can`t believe the little lad won so many headers.”

“It was a joy to watch skysports news last night, especially when they showed the goals near enough in real time.
Every time Jeff Stelling went back to the reporter at Bramall Lane I expected us to have scored again!!!
One very enjoyable evening!”

“That counter, attack on the break was pretty awesome. Showed the passion”

“one of best performances in years
yes utd do let a lot of goals in and he changed both centre backs at half time it was nice to see us play so positive
we were all singing we want five as there fan were walking out after the fourth goal
there were a few sheepish utd fans on the station last night as we were singing all the way home”

“I remember winning there back in the 1980s when Gary Stephens scored and walking out bursting with pride. But this result is far better bearing in mind their resources and how much we have been struggling for results recently.”

“If we harbour ambitions of being established at this level, away wins over mid table teams have to become routine, so I don’t want to do us a disservice by making this seem like a giant killing or anything. We’re better than that.”

“They could not cope with Junior Brown at all and quickly resorted to direct football. Despite having the likes of Sharp, Baxter and Salmon, Blades lacked any real spark”
“I can understand why people are delighted with last night (as I am) but the reaction online is a reminder as to how other clubs see us and how we see ourselves.
I don’t know what to laugh at more really, the Sheff Utd fans and their reaction to little old Shrewsbury beating them or some of our fans at beating massive Sheff Utd. They are a fellow L1 side regardless of history, ground and gates”

“Now for real professional boo-boys, take a look at the Sheffield United forums, and their reaction to last night’s thumping, on top of the vitriol inside Bramall Lane. It makes our grumpiness look totally inadequate.”

“Whatever happens for the remainder of the season, I’m pretty confident that will go down as one of its best and funniest away days. Absolute scenes at Brammall Lane tonight.
Us overcoming the humiliation of letting Connor Sammon score against us to run absolutely rampant for most of the first half.
Adkins forced into a triple substitution at half-time, including both of his centre halves, something I don’t think I’ve ever seen a manager do before.
The aforementioned Sammon putting a presentable chance out for a throw in, before being ironically cheered by the home faithful every time he managed to head the ball vaguely in the direction of one of his team mates.
Large sections of the ground sponsored by Hooch.
The home fans busting out “what a load of rubbish” after only 40 minutes, and moving onto “you’re not fit to wear the shirt” by just 50.
As this suggests, the Blades were appalling tonight, particularly for the first 45, but a lot of that was down to us and you have to give our boys plenty of credit tonight too.”
“For a club that pays big wages and has a big following they really are a joke of a club.”

“what a sensational game. One of the best ever away trips I have had with Town in nearly 27 years. Made so much better by the fact that I was a student in Sheffield in the 90’s so went to Bramall Lane many times but never before with Town. Terrible home support and a positive performance right through our team filled with determination and, most importantly, a positive style of play that I have not seen in a while. We could have crumbled after their superbly taken first goal (pretty much the only thing Blades did right all night) but we hit back and slugged it out toe to toe and certainly surprised and delighted me with the strength we showed. What a first half though – I can’t remember a 45 mins as fun and as enjoyable as that for many a year. Blades were ineptitude personified in the first half – as poor a 45 mins as I have ever seen – saying they were second best would be an overstatement. Town’s 4th was just incredible too – a slick, well worked break and an excellent finish (although Long perhaps should have got a hand to it).”

“Great headline in sheff star today maiming hy the shrews”

“Very noticeable that since our last visit Bramall Lane really seems to have lost it’s “fear factor”.”
