“Did we not play Sheff Utd on opening day live on Sky and go on to win the double? Easy Cheesy”

“Sheffield United have scored a bucket load this pre season. Conceded a fair few too. Going to be open game I think .”

“Could be a bit of a chaos game as Selles can press quite high too, albeit we saw the exact opposite when Hull went down to 10 but in that first 15 they were very much on top.”

“I want to see chaos in the opposition because they can’t cope with the speed of passing and movement. I don’t want to see chaos in my own team.”

“That will take time imo. I’m not sure we are going to go up to Sheffield United and blow them away. Don’t think we are there just yet. However, we should be a week of training sessions better than we were last week.”

“Well Sheff Utd will play that way under Selles so you can see two teams playing that way”

“I’m expecting a much closer contest between the two sides this time, in the playoffs, because of the injuries, meaning players were missing, and the Dickie incident, which really knocked the stuffing out of us. I watched the game, and up until that point, I felt the game could go either way, so yes, I would say United may be in for a nasty surprise. I’m sure the players will be really up for it to show them we are a much better side than the playoff games showed.”

“I’d be highly disappointed if we lose by 3 again. In the League we gave Sheffield United two very good Games..should have drawn at worst at Home and fully deserved at least a point up there.
Sheffield United are favourites, our injuries don’t help either- we’ll be without O’Leary, McNally, Pring and Bird but we should give a good account of ourselves.”

“sounds like Hirakawa is likely to start LWB.Good day for the Sheffield United right side, I fear but maybe I’m unduly pessimistic.”

“On the other side of the coin, a tough night for their right side. Arnt they struggling at RB at the moment?”

“Very true. Yu and Mehemti could be exciting. I just worry about the balance and lack of physicality.”

“In the away game (non-playoffs) we ripped that Seriki apart who got dragged off.”

“If it’s Seriki and Brooks on that right side Saturday night (ask any Blades fan – they’ll be WORRIED defensively).
And I expect he wants McCrorie on our right side to deal with Sheffield United’s very dangerous left side of Burrows, Barry and Hamer (who drops in pockets left side – please someone go take him), I’d much rather Ross that side then stuck up against Seriki/New Bulgarian and Brooks.

We should be getting beat, look at their team. But I’m happy our manager isn’t going safe.
Brooks doesn’t track much and if Yu can get 1v1 with Seriki, with Mehmeti/Twine offering support and Riis/McCrorie sneaking in, we can do them. “

“It is clearly a risk but could bring reward. Sheffield United right side looks a bit ropey.”

“In this game I have looked and perhaps there are weaknesses to be exploited on the Sheffield United right side. Going forward Yu and Mehemti seems good- no Gilchrist, Clarke or even Choudhury who could fill in at RB anymore.
If they play say Hamer, O’Hare, new CM and Peck or Arblaster then that Yu and Mehmeti combination could actually exploit the right side. Maybe we can exploit Ahmedhodzic going late on too (no Souttar or Holding) albeit that is more for Twine, Riis and any other central runners.
No Rak-Sakyi to worry about or Brereton-Diaz who is central but not always”

“Sheffield U look a tad weaker, but they had a huge lead over us”

“We’ll get our pants pulled down at Sheffield United.”

“I still think the gap between the relegated sides (plus Sheffield United) and the rest will be too strong.

“Sheffield United are a funny one to me..on one hand I agree and they didn’t have a PL battering, otoh they’ve lost quite a bit- their depth over a long season as of now isn’t great”

“I am ruling out everyone except the 3 relegated clubs and Sheff Utd because they have more money and bigger squads. Will be surprised if Southampton hit the ground running after a terrible season, little recruitment and a new manager. And Sheff U seem to have lost a number of players from the spine of their team so expect a bit of a transition for them with a change of system likely too.”

“I don’t think it’s a banker that Leicester and Sheff Utd make the play offs. Both seem to have ageing squads and unproven managers at this level.”

“I’m with those that see Sheffield U only consolidating where they were last season. Our first game may be the toughest this term.”
