“Sheffield United, wow. Based on that they really need Wilder to pull
off a miracle. So much quality in their squad but they looked horrendous.”
“Bloody brilliant. Like a few on here, I expected the wilder bounce to take off and us to take a bit of a beating but after 10-15 mins I didn’t think Sheff were all that. As the game went on I wasn’t worried we would concede and felt like we would get a 0-0 at worst but always knew we were capable or nicking all 3 points.”
“United getting to play at home, in the pouring rain, when they have just brought back a ‘club legend’ to manage them was always going to be a difficult task.
But Jones got the team and the subs spot on. Something he does more often than not.”
“Who remembers s few years ago when we had to score 2 or 3 goals to get a point
1 goal for the win every time!
Loving being in the championship, ain’t pretty but we are competing!”
“. Everybody put in a shift and the best team won”
“A win would have been impressive regardless but to get it when Sheffield Utd were revved up with the return of Wider was absolutely brilliant.”
“he game was not quality but Sheffield could have played al night and still not have scored.”
“Would have been happy with a 0-0, but I’m over the moon with that result! 1-0 flatters Sheffield United too, Wilder’s got a lot of work to do”
“What a strange last 10 minutes tho, Sheff Utd looked like they knew what was coming and completely lost their heads. Luckily we got the breakthrough in time.
Wilder has got some job on his hands.”
“Was chatting to a Sheff United fan on the train on the way back. He was generally very negative about his team and predicted that they would be in a relegation battle even before the season started. He was also very put out that their stripey neighbours won and are 4 points ahead of them. I was surprised that they call them the Massives too! I thought it was just “
“The more negative an opposition manager talks about his team the more positive I am. Wilder summed it up by saying you need to have the nuts to go and do it on a Saturday – they didn’t, we did! “
“Game changed completely once Leaburn came on. Their defence was terrified of him. He does not look fit enough to play for more than 45 minutes but he will never get fully match fit playing 20 or 25 mins per game.”
“They were terrified of Leaburn because they spent the first 70 minutes trying to contain TC and Kelman. “
” had to stand in a 30 min queue to pickup my ticket. Bit of a shambles on Sheffield United behalf, apparently most of their season tickets were not scanning and it caused merry chaos, the locals were not happy and alot got in late. Nice to know even an ex (recent) premiership team can be a bit of a mess too.
