BRENTFORD FANS
“Great move for both Romelle and BFC”
“I don’t think we will see him in a Bees shirt again.
Shame.”
“What a ridiculous overreaction to a perfectly reasonable loan at this stage in his development.”
“Shame. He’s been impressive here so far, I don’t see why he can’t play a role here next season”
“He’s a 19 year old who clearly needs first team minutes. He has serious potential but he’s the sort of player who would benefit most from playing competitive minutes than continuing his development in training. I thought he’d be in our first team picture this year but this is probably more beneficial for him.”
“Romelle is an exciting and talented player and from what we have seen so far he offers that old ‘tricky winger’ style of play who loves to beat the opponent by dribbling the ball past him instead of laying it off and looking for a return.
What we, the fans, haven’t yet seen is how he gets on up against established, experienced defenders on a regular basis so the loan would be ideal to give him that experience rather than him trying to continue to learn his skills against players in our squad who are familiar with his technique and him not getting enough match time in the PL because of the quality of players we currently have.
It’s a catch-22 situation, try to keep him involved in the PL squad and use him only on occasion or allow him to do what he is good at and what he enjoys most; playing regularly in games that matter.
The club appear to have come to the conclusion that it is the latter.”
“One thing for sure we’ve all enjoyed seeing Romelle showing his potential and hope he can make it with us in the long term. He’s still young At the the very worst we make a profit on our investment and he gets a chance elsewhere.”
“Good loan – exactly what’s needed for him at this point. Loads of players have a good year at Championship level and can then make the step up to PL regular – no reason it can’t be Romelle.”
“He needs a proper full season under his belt alright. Look forward to seeing if he cuts it for them or not”
“Hopefully he has a great season in the Championship ready to push for a start next season.”
“If he smashes it there of course we’ll want him back. Struggle to see the problem.”
“This is exactly what is needed – A platform to go and perform in the hamster wheel of The Championship. Saturday -> Tuesday -> Saturday -> Tuesday -> Saturday -> Tuesday and on for 46 matches.
Good luck to him.”
“This is a perfect move. Sheffield United are likely to be competitive and if he can force his way into the starting lineup there then it will be fantastic experience and far better preparation for the premier league than he can get playing cups, PL2 and the odd appearance off the bench.”
“I think this is a good move for him. I hope I’m not wrong, but I can see him making a real impact in the Championship and get a lot of game time (which hasn’t always been the case for our loaned out players).”
“I don’t mind this if we have a clause to recall at any time!
If we have Kev, Dango, Antony all fighting for two spots he might not get a look in….but all it takes is one injury and I’d prefer he was on our bench and getting minutes.”
“Donovan came to us with major discipline/attitude issues which we’d dealt with enough during his loan to buy him but may have needed to keep him on a shorter leash for while giving him encouragement.
We trust him enough now to let him get match time in a team that’ll probably aim top 6 at least.”
“hope he’s learned his lesson and doesn’t throw away a promising career”
“Maybe a sweetener to secure Sydie Peck?”
“Whether it is a great move for him or not, I’m personally wishing I could see the reaction of the bloke in the pub after the the 1-0 there that was telling us how we didnt belong in the prem”
BIRMINGHAM FANS
“Good player tbf, heard he’s not got a great attitude, we sent him on loan to Burton and he stunk the gaff out and then started playing well once a prem team were in for him”
“Needs to realise talent will only get you so far. Buckle down, work harder and end product he needs to add to his game. It will come and maybe it’s a wake up call. Jude, Jobe & JJ have the above and RD needs to show it as well.”
“Were always questions about attitude with us and Davies did not take a liking to him. Looks talented but can see him struggling physically, unless that has improved considerably at Brentford.”
“Undoubtedly talented. Glides with the ball. Makes it look easy. Low centre of gravity.
Always been question marks about his attitude though.”
“Wonderful on the ball very gifted, pysical side always a weak point.”
“Bags of tricks, bit of a selfish dribbler, has struggled for end product, had a loan at Burton where he never settled then got his move to Brentford this will be a test of whether he has improved his all round game & whether he can produce consistently bit of a gamble.”
“He’s very very talented. Fantastic dribbler who’s got no fear of taking his man on, and also had a knack for a wondergoal at U21 level.”
“He’ll be a great player once given the right training and minutes. Imo overall he is better than Dembele (when we had him). He might not be starting 11 but he’d be a nightmare down the wing after 70 minutes of high press”
“He looked a prospect in the Championship and I watched an interview with him just before his loan and he spoke really well and clearly would be proud to play for Blues”
“Thought he was a ‘bright spark ‘ in a dark room with rooneys football..”
“Meh didn’t even get a sniff for us in L1 which would’ve been perfect to give him confidence, complete opposite of what we need atm, need experienced heads not balloon heads”
“He went on loan at burton who were rock bottom and couldn’t get in the team there either”
“he really isn’t that good , 9 apps last season for burton in league 1 , – 1 goal… burton only won 2 of those matches, 3 games last , in the cup…. Not for me.”
“he didn’t perform there so obvious a attitude issue, I was gutted he left through”
