“Great win. I didn’t expect it and would have been pleased with a draw.
well done everyone.
WE ARE TOP OF THE LEAGUE!!”

“thought we’d get battered. Get me that humble pie…”

“Stunning…when they equalised we were under the cosh, I was thinking we could lose 4-1, our brilliant keeper made some fantastic saves to keep us level, and then you could see Utd run out of steam, that was a MOM keeper game if I ever saw one, but Twiney Riis Ross Tanner Rob, et all you were brilliant today, can’t remember a more satisfying first game.”

” an open game that at times in the first behalf was their attack-minded approach.  I think Selles has got his patterns across pretty quickly.  But playing O’Hare and Hamer with Peck is never gonna be defensive.
And we were clinical.”

“So do we still need to worry about the mighty Sheffield United targeting the poor choice of Yu at left wing-back? Thought he did a great job myself.”

“a season conceding 70% of the ball and 20 Shots in a Game will only go one way..2nd Half especially before the subs felt more secure and overall a top display.”

“Happy to eat massive humble pie on Struber . That was brilliant. We played great stuff . Tinnions signings excellent even the manager by the looks of it. Twine a revelation. McCrorie a legend. Vitek dominates his box . Hope I am not going to wake up and it’s all a dream!”

“We have, and if we can compete with teams with parachute payments, it means we finally have a good setup too.”

“As the game went on Selles seemed to get more and more baffled as to how to counter our increasingly effective and coordinated pressing and transitions.

I’m a fan of Selles and would have taken him over Manning but he has a lot of work to do. One nil to Struber on the coaching front today imo.”

“Their defence is their weak point currently as far as I know, and boy did we show it/exploit it. Their attack is their strength, and they arguably slightly misfired (and we defended pretty well on the whole, not to take anything away from us) – while we didn’t in front of goal.
I don’t think they’re poor though, and I expect them to be top 6 or there abouts again at the end of the season. I wasn’t feeling confident when they got their equaliser, or even when we were 2-1 up – they had enough of the ball and the players to really hurt us on another day.”

“It will be interesting next Saturday against Charlton who aren’t exactly going to come at us like Sheffield united did and get done by our counter play “

“If they continue putting up 20 shots, 6 on target, and 2.6 xG then they will be absolutely fine and will comfortably be top 4.
Very few teams will convert their chances like we did today, and Sheff Utd will crank out enough 2-0 wins to make it.
Tidy win for us today, got to work out how to keep the energy, keep the cutting edge, and build on it.”

“A very odd appointment for them following last season “

“Are we allowed to feel insulted by the Blades fans getting so upset that they lost to little Bristol City? Memories of last season maybe? Worth remembering though that two of our goals were top class, do we get the credit for that?”

“Don’t know if previously mentioned, but apparently that was Utd’s worst opening day home defeat in 71 years!”

“They had 20 minutes of pretty intense pressure and there was a flurry of blocks and saves towards the end, but over the whole game, I don’t think they were that threatening. The key was scoring that 2nd so soon after they scored.”
