“The first half showed the gulf between the two teams. Sheffield Utd were well coached, with every single player knowing in detail their role and the team as a whole being well structured and working as one. Their players were fit, fast and strong. They gave away good fouls, if that makes sense, when they needed to. They played the game on the front foot, knowing like everyone else does that if you put QPR under pressure they wilt, and that harassment led to both goals. QPR on the other hand, looked like they didn’t know what they were doing, both collectively and individually. The players were slow, weak and easily pushed around. The gulf was stark.
The second half may have appeared closer but that was an illusion. Sheffield Utd had won the game convincingly by half time and they played at half pace from then on. It was very reminiscent of the Warnock Championship winning team tbh, start the game right, do the hard work, get in front, then see the game out for a perfunctory 2-0 win.”
“Sheffield United have a strong team and bench and due to poor management are in a wrong position, but are turning it around.”
“They were just too good, plenty of effort from us but no guile.”
“Sheffield U weren’t that great,we were just so open at times it’s not true.”
“make no mistake Sheffield United squad is quality (imo) but we have been horrific in every department!”
“Weak 2-0 loss at home & a decent United team barely had break sweat.”
“I think Sheffield United loved that training session”
“That was bloody awful from start to finish,
No game plan and outplayed for most of it – manager screwed us again.”
“We need a Warnock/Wilder figure rather than the bullshitters getting rich off the club and turning out dross like today. It’s going to get worse this season too…”
“First half was embarrassingly easy for them. We had one shot on target apart from the disallowed goal that I can recall – Vale’s free kick which was routine. We might have equalised if the goal stands but the first half was dire, injuries or no injuries.”
“Thought we were in for another hiding but we had chances to get back in the game and was thankful we didn’t concede more .”
“For me the game was done at 2-0 down, thought Esquidina (Heverton Santos mk 2) was awful again, to blame for the first done over by Chong the Championship journeyman, Varane terrible, compounded by giving the ball away for the 2nd goal”
“Whenever we play Sheffield Utd I see comments that they are a strong team but never see that said about us. It doesn’t feel that we ever do anything about this and just pick up more small waif like types who are injury prone. Pompey brought in a couple of signings who have scored whilst our January signing appears to have got injured arriving and can’t play. We pay peanuts and get faulty goods cast off by other clubs like Saito.
erhaps it’s my imagination but whenever we play at Bramall Lane early in the season we do ok but always lose the return at home as by then we usually find ourselves in another crisis by the time the Blades show up. Like I say I might have that wrong brought about by a crushed belief that it will ever get better.”
“Some of the difference will be down to the fact that Sheff Utd have better players too. A quick look at a few of the transfer fees paid shows that.”
“A better second half but wasted after a very poor first half. Too easy for SU”
“Didn’t really lay a glove on them, huff and puff but too slow and devoid of ideas, they took their chances I suppose. Is that the best those fellas on the pitch can do? I’m starting to think it is unfortunately”
“Any idea why the goal was disallowed?”
“I think the ref thought it would have flattered us.”
“I’m just wondering how we got to 47 points so far this season? There must be a lot of awful teams in this division.”
“After being at qpr v sheff utd today, safe to save sheff Utd fans are obsessed with Sheff Wednesday. All their songs were about them”
