“Sheffield United apparently have very low levels of possession so we might get a lot of the ball like today
Would expect them to be much more aggressive than Watford
We don’t beat these too often, time to change that?”

“We have always seemed to get rolled over by these in the last couple of seasons or so. Nicking Campbell off us was salt in the wounds at the time, although him and us seem to be going in opposite directions now. To paraphrase Kevin Keegan RIP, I would love it, really love it, if we beat them.”

“Wilder always somehow seems to get the better of us, would love to beat them on Saturday.”

“These are slowly turning into Championship Arsenal in terms of my dislike for their fans and manager.
Really, really want to beat them, preferably by a few goals, its long overdue.”

“I want a win so comprehensive and so soul-destroying for the opposition that the city of Sheffield immediately pledges its allegiance to the House of Lanchester at the full-time whistle.”

“We owe these one, our recent record against them has been woeful.
They will try and break quick and sneak a win on the counter, defend well and we win this one”

“I think we have won only five of our last 30 against them. They are a real bogey side (and they beat us comfortably both times last season). Hoping for something much better on Saturday”

“The mood has definitely shifted but we’re in a very delicate position I think.
A heavy defeat to Shef U and the bubble bursts and we’re back to more questions than answers.
A decent performance and unlucky defeat or draw. We can stay positive.
A good performance and a deserved three points then the belief really starts to build.
I’m not sure what way this goes to be honest.”

“Should see the bet365 rocking.”

“Surely we go into this with confidence, home support and a magic midfield.”

“Hoping Soumare scores a howitzer”

“I think it’ll be quite an evenly matched game but given how we’re doing and how down they seem to be, you’d be a bit disappointed if we couldn’t win it, although 13 points from 15 would be pretty remarkable. A draw is probably most likely.”

“They look a strong team on paper”

“Given their side and options they have certainly a bigger test than Watford.
A real marker to how good we are or can be? Can we control the game again and win?!”

“Not scared but it won’t be like playing Watford who had no forwards of note and were without all their best full backs by half-time. It will be a tough game”

“Will be a tough game, they have good forward options off the bench and strong players all over the pitch. They brought Ayew, Cannon, Rothwell, Doherty and Rhys-Norrington on as subs on Sunday”

“Sheff Utd are strong through the middle, and will be prepared for our mobile midfield. Maybe too strong for us, I see us scoring early on but they come back into it second half.
Hope they prove me wrong and win.”

“We shouldn’t get run ragged by their forwards. They have got no pace between them. Campbell’s by far the quickest and he is out of favour.
Got decent midfield players though.”

“They have some decent midfield players, if they use them properly, they are struggling upfront so far.”

“they have an array of attackers to choose from Bamford, Cannon, Ayew, Campbell and Brereton! Having said that they have scored 3 fewer than us so far this season!”

“Will be a tough game.
They’ll set up 3-5-2.
They have a good squad on paper and a poor result could be curtains for wilder.”

“Their fan base is divided at the minute a lot want Wilder out.”

“A lot of pressure on Wilder to get something from this game. Their fans have had enough of him.”

“Checking out the Blades forums there will be lots of abuse for Wilder from his own supporters”

“A lot of their players are still on parachute payment wages but now them payments have stopped and the wage bill is high.
It is reported they have 3 LB,s, 2 of them on north of 25k a week and a third LB (Norrington-Davies) on 10k a week can’t get a game.
He’s juggling alot of players who are on high wages and need more motivation. Surely shirley they won’t sack him again. They always go worse once they get rid of him.”

“Going to need a strong ref for this one who won’t be swayed by Wilder’s moaning and the very dark arts Sheffield offer.”

“They might be a solid outfit but nothing more.”

“Memories of them chanting about The Vale when they were convinced we were going down spring to mind & some of their gobshites giving out slaps after the match too
About time we gave em a drubbing”

“I have a mild dislike of Sheff Utd, always found their fans total bumholes. Would be particularly enjoyable to turn them over and get to sing “wednesday away ole ole”.
They seem to be in turbulent times again but still have some clear quality in that side. I’d prefer if we ignore Campbell and don’t give him any sort of extra motivation but I know we won’t.
It’s amazing when you consider just how catastrophically run the two Sheffield clubs have been this century, and how poor they’ve both been relative to the size of those clubs. Sheff Utd got trapped in League One for 6 seasons and, if they keep playing their cards wrong, could well end up back there in the next few years having spurned premiership riches.
Sheff Wed will have spent a total of 7 years at that level this century alone by the end of this season. For context we’ve spent 8 down there in our entire history.
If those two clubs were both in the premiership you wouldn’t bat an eyelid.”

“I thought they would sell out”

“Their fans seem throughly depressed at the moment……”
