“I think it is fair to say that it was a good performance. But then that is the case for almost all of our games?
To say that it was better than others isn’t right imo. We took one chance and they didn’t take theirs… That was the only difference. In previous games, we were punished for our mistakes, and we made a few last night but didn’t concede from them.”
“It wasn’t a perfect performance by any means. We definitely rode our luck a bit to begin with and needed that great clearance by Ayling.
The difference is that Boro grew into the game and largely ran the second half, instead of what we sometimes do…run out of steam and start to look aimless.
We limited a pretty good team to just a few decent chances and were a bit unlucky not to score a couple more ourselves.”
“Well that was well deserved. I thought it was going to be case of the same old story all season of chances costing us and daft mistakes at the back.
I can’t think of a game we haven’t controlled all season , I’m just happy tonight we got our just rewards.”
“Good second half. By far the better team”
“Only one team wanted to win that one”
“Played the better teams perfectly, Sunderland, West Brom and Shef Utd all dominated and beaten. Just so frustrating that we get picked off by Derby, Bristol and Pompey.”
“Did think we’d prob win this. I feel very confident when we play a good side. Won’t be surprised if we beat Norwich too.
Then we will inevitably lose to bottom of the table QPR. Not even joking, I bet we do. “
“Sheffield appeared to me to be much slicker in the opening 15-20 minutes and having just listened to Carricks post match interview he seems to take the same view. The good news is we adapted well and really controlled the game from then on in, happy days”
“Great goal but can we take a moment to appreciate how late Sheff Utd’s keeper dived for this ball”
“Everybody knows that to beat us you set up in a low block, let us have the ball as much as we want and then hit us in the break. What we need is to play against a manager with a head like a bucket who thinks his way is still best. Cheers Chris”
“Remember its never Chris wilder fault”
“Wilder has made a rod for his own back over the years. He’s recently changed his persona in the media after going on a course led by Bryn Law.”
“Fully deserved the 3 points Have that Wilder ya dafty”
“Superb dominant second half display from Boro. Grew into the game the longer it went on. So chuffed for latte and great to get one over on wilder.”
“Wilder looks like someone shat in his shoe and stole his socks. I hope he gets a puncture on the way home and by the time he gets back, his dinner’s in the dog and his wife has left a note on the worktop saying “sleep on the sofa tonight so you don’t disturb me. P.S. you’re a ***.””
