“Dear Mr Wilder
Now that your superb team have clinched the well deserved reward of champions , i would like to ask a favour . We are like yourselves a proud Yorkshire club , who also like you play nice attractive attacking football . Wouldn’t it be great to have a Yorkshire double this season ?, with this in mind will you allow us to sneak a 4-0 win at bramall lane on bank holiday Monday ?.”

“congratulations on winning the title Blades.Hopefully big James Hanson takes all his team mates out on a two day bender and there all hung over come Monday”

“Agree with this, am sure Chris wont mind if they all have a bit of a hang over on Monday, we certainly wont. Could do with a win at BL probably for the first time ever. Anyway to their fans, big congratulations, taken you a long time to do it but well deserved.”

“Just been on Bolton forum and they are mostly griping at the one dimensional football they are seeing relying on the ageing ALF to knock the goals in.
Despite Bolton having a seemingly easier run in-they are not playing well right now -so anything is still possible!
Keep the faith everyone we can still dream. All the pressure is on Bolton right now and its beginning to show-only 1 goal in the last 4 games”

“Didn’t realise they were relying on ALF to score. Think Oldham set up to stop Beevers; stop him and you stop Bolton. If us and them go up, I’d be confident of finishing above any championship team that relies on the centre halves to score their goals.”

“Well Monday fast approaches, undoubtedly a tough game.Over the last 10 games the Blades are top of the form table and we are second. They are top of the home form table and away form we are fourth (based on last 4 away games) so a tight affair most likely.
I read yesterday’s match report and see that Leon Clarke has scored yet again for them but noticed that Hanson was not even on the bench for them. I have read on this board that Clarke is back in the starting line up as pitches start improving again but wonder if JH is dropped or injured. Can we expect to see him terrorising our centre half duo on Monday I wonder?
This game has the makings of a belter if we get at them from the off.”

“If they score first, then I fear it will be all over. If we can keep the ball and frustrate them, then who knows. Concede early and I worry that we will suffer a significant defeat.”

“It’s inevitable that Hanson will play and score.
Obviously a massively tough game. I tend to think they’ll come out on top in a high scoring game.”

“My money is on McNulty. He got on for 2 mins yesterday. Big Jim not even on the bench.
McNulty to score against us would be worse for me and definitely more embarrasing.”

“Ha ha McNulty.. behave!!”

“Sharp  will score he always bloody dose against us”

“I’m quietly confident think we will seriously raise our game for this, we need to go all guns blazing from the off try catch em cold.”

“If we get a point out of this game I will be satisfied, if we win I will be ecstatic. They are a really good team, but we have gone toe to toe with them and nearly beat them at home. We are now a much tougher team, I think that will stand us in good stead. They will also be up for this, forget all that crap about already being champions and they won’t bother, that is not going to happen. It might be a very close game. I will be surprised if they give us a spanking, no team has done that.”

“Let’s not build them up to be super human. They are a good side and obviously it will be a tough game but ysterdays win ensures whatever happens on Monday we will be in a good position going in to the last couple of games”

“Remember we played with McArdle at rb and Killgallon at Lb for the 3-3 draw earlier this season to combat their height out wide.
I see similar this time. Back 3 of Vince in the middle, NKP lcb and Rory rcb, T.Mac and Meredith down the flanks, Dieng, Cullen and Law in the midfield 3 with Marshall and Wyke up top. The same formation that was against Millwall at VP but with Wyke up top instead of Jones. Should work well imo.”

“Think we’ll have too much for the Blades”

  1. As a Blade , really hope you snatch second spot. We have had a few run ins with Bolton this season and would much rather see Bradford and another Yorkshire team promoted. Good luck to you , after tomorrow obviously ?
