“Very decent result that”

“That’s the first “team performance” I’ve watched this season….to a man, all quality! Let’s go!”

“Despite Sheffield having the bulk of possession Boro used what they had far more effectively. Thoroughly deserved half time lead.
Second half was a much scrappier affair. Both sides struggled to build any good moves. Though again the visitors enjoyed more possession and pressured our defence, they created very few really good chances.
Felt we were hanging on a bit at the end, but in a relatively comfortable manner (as opposed to the usual sweaty, nail-biting anxiety). “

“a great 2-0 victory with stand out performances from Bamba, Watmore, McNair, Lumley and Bola.
Lucky for us Sheff U seemed to have their best players on the bench in McGoldrick Hourihane and McBurnie.
Billy Sharp and McGoldrick, when he came on looked decent without really hurting us but they are a bit long in the tooth these days. Morgan Gibbs-White was a threat from the off but testament to Bola that his influence on the game was limited. Tall and quick with a nice touch he was working across the front line, always looking for the forward pass. It was obvious this lad can play, always involved in the United attacks and linking well with Sharp.”

“Reading Sheff Utd’s forum they seem to think Adlène Guedioura would have been the answer tonight. Really? REALLY?”

“I was quite happy most of the time with Sheff Utd in possession and i think our players were. When they lost it we were quick to break and they were slack off the ball at times.”

“Yes Sheff Utd had lots of ball and played some nice stuff but we have got right into them and look a different team to what we have seen in recent weeks.”.

“Sheffield threatened more…without creating too many clear cut chances.”

“the team battled tonight, unlike QPR, Sheff Utd tride to play around us, through us, but we defended really well”

“there was times when Sheff utd had the majority of possession and cut us open easily (mainly down our right hand side), but i felt we dealt with the occasion extremely well”

“Great result and good performance from the team, I just hope it wasn’t papering over cracks. Sheff Utd looked a better team throughout the game, passed and played around our midfield but came unstuck when they reached the defence, which stood tight and limited them to half chances”

“Got away with it because Sheff utd just turned up expecting to win”

“Credit to the Sheff Utd fans in the north stand sat near us who took the loss with dignity, knowing their team had been well and truly stuffed.”

“Also made the least noise of any away fans I’ve heard all season.”
